Let’s face it; those of us who have been working on implementing ITIL have obtained plenty of knowledge on HOW to work through the processes for successful ITSM processes. But how do we measure success? Are we passing our IT Audits… with flying colors? What are the controls and metrics to use in order to assess our results? The Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (CobIT) framework helps with WHAT is needed for success, and WHAT is needed to get there. The ITIL and CobIT frameworks in fact complement each other in the measure of Critical Success Factors.

Angela Polania, CPA, CISA, CRISC
Angela is a principal of Elevate Consulting, a premier provider of GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) and IT & Finance Transformation Consulting.
Over the past eleven years, Angela has harmonized the delicate balance between business process and technology management. Her foundation in both accounting and information systems presents a unique perspective to process, risk management and controls. Angela began her career with Arthur Andersen and then move to Deloitte.
Angela manages and oversees several consulting projects in the areas of finance and IT assurance, compliance and process improvement. Angela often assumes the role of the trusted advisor and project manager for her clients. Angela’s industry experience includes: Financial Services, Healthcare, Staffing, Manufacturing, Utilities and Hospitality amongst others.
Angela holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified IT Risk Assessor (CRISC) certifications. Moreover, Angela has obtained the ITIL V3 foundations certification. Angela has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Florida International University and currently is studying for her Masters in Accounting at Florida Atlantic University.

Each year, Covenant House reaches hundreds of kids in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando via street outreach, crisis shelters, transitional housing projects, and aftercare, making Covenant House Florida one of the largest private agencies serving runaway and homeless youth in the state of Florida. On behalf of the itSMF South Florida LIG Board, "we are thrilled that our group was able to participate and help such a wonderful cause".
